What are reusable menstrual pads?

Reusable menstrual pads are washable and reusable cloth pads used as an alternative to disposable sanitary pads. They are made from absorbent materials and designed to be environmentally friendly and cost-effective over time. Rare Meraki's reusable pads are breathable than single-use pads that have plastic lining. They are sanitary, easy to clean and have a waterproof lining inside to prevent leaking.
How do reusable menstrual pads work?

Reusable menstrual pads are worn just like disposable pads. They are made from layers of absorbent fabric that capture menstrual flow. Because of the high absorbancy, each pad can hold more liquid compared to the single use pads, making changing a pad less frequently. After use, they are washed, dried, and reused.
What are the benefits of using reusable pads?

If you switch to reusable, you would save up to 500 disposable menstrual pads a year.
What materials are your pads made of?

Our reusable pads are made from high-quality, sustainable materials such as organic cotton, bamboo, and waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate).
How many pads do I need?

The number of pads you need depends on your flow and how frequently you can wash them. For a typical cycle, we recommend having at least 6-10 pads of varying absorbencies. The pads that we offer are small (liners), medium (day), large (night) and post-partum (to be used for heavy flows).
Are your pads suitable for heavy flow?

Yes, we offer pads in various absorbencies, including those designed for heavy flow. Look for our "Large" or "Post partum" pads for maximum absorption.
How do I wash my reusable menstrual pads?

Rinse the pad in cold water immediately after use to remove excess blood. Spot stain if needed, then, machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners/conditioners as they can affect the pad’s absorbency. Air dry in the sun like any other clothing.
Can I use reusable pads while exercising?

Absolutely! Our reusable pads are designed to stay in place and provide reliable protection during physical activities.
How long do reusable pads last?

With proper care, reusable menstrual pads can last up to 5 years. Their lifespan depends on the how many pads you have, frequency of use, rotation of each pad and how well they are maintained.
How often should I wash the mask?

It is recommended to wash your masks each day after use and to have several masks to cycle through the week.
Are reusable menstrual pads hygienic?

Yes, reusable pads are hygienic when properly cleaned. They are made from materials that are safe for the skin and are designed to prevent odors and bacterial growth.
Do reusable pads cause any irritation or allergies?

Our pads are made from hypoallergenic materials that are gentle on the skin that is suitable for sensitive skin.
How do I choose the right size and absorbency?

We offer a variety of sizes and absorbencies to suit different needs. Our product descriptions include details about length, width, and recommended flow levels to help you make an informed choice.
Do you offer international shipping?

We currently only ship with South Africa, nationwide.
What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of the product, we do not accept returns on menstrual pads. However, if you have any issues with your order, please contact our customer service team, and we will do our best to resolve them.
Are there any bulk purchase discounts?

Yes, we offer discounts on bulk purchases. We offer packages that at a more affordable price point or contact us directly for more information on available discounts and offers.
